Mrs. Carrie Poole, Classroom Teacher
Carrie Poole is in her 9th year teaching Kindergarten in Simcoe County. Prior to moving to Barrie, she worked for The District School Board of Niagara. She has spent most of her career with the SCDSB in JK/SK at Hillcrest. Carrie has 3 young children of her own and is passionate about making learning fun and personally meaningful for each child. She brings enthusiasm, creativity and a love of children to the classroom everyday. Carrie believes in celebrating success in learning, no matter how big or small, and is working to help each child reach his or her fullest potential. She feels strongly about maintaining a solid home-school connection and working with parents as everyone learns and grows together. Carrie is super excited about this year's AMAZING group of STUDENTS, the new Full Day Learning Program, the WONDERFUL PARENT SUPPORT and the awesome Kindergarten Team! It's going to be a great year!
Miss Megan Gardiner, Early Childhood Educator
Megan Gardiner is in her first year at Hillcrest in the new Designated Early Childhood Educator position. She has many years of experience working with children, in a number of different enviornments, and has always wanted to work in a school setting. Megan is excited to work in your child's Kindergarten class this year and watch the growth of each child as they develop through the year!
Miss Lesley Fowler, Educational Assistant
Lesley Fowler is in her 14th year of working as an Educational Assistant with the Simcoe County District School Board. She is in her 6th year at Hilllcrest Public School! She is excited to be joining our classroom team, as of January 2013!
Mrs. Paula Ryan, Educational Assistant
Paula Ryan is in her 12th year of being an Educational Assistant with the Simcoe County District School Board. She has been working on-and-off at Hillcrest for 5 years now! Paula is the mother of 3 boys, and loves working with children. As of January 14, 2013, Paula Ryan has moved on to a new school closer to her home. We wish Paula nothing but the best at her new school! We will miss you!
Miss Meghan Vanderlaan, Student Teacher Candidate
Meghan Vanderlaan is a Bachelor of Education student from York University. She was in our classroom on Mondays and Tuesdays through Sept and October, and was in our classroom for 3 full weeks in November!
